The group consists of graduate students form the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, and Materials Science.

Senior research staff members include Drs William Philips and Sergei Orlov, foremost experts in the fields of holographic data storage and optical materials
and the leaders of the HDSS demonstration system team.
Fidor Dimov is carrying out research in remotely controlled laboratories and has been a member of the HDSS team that built the first fully digital data storage system.

Administrative assistance is extremely ably performed by Lilyan Sequeira.

At any given time there are typically one or two foreign visitors in the group from Europe or Asia, as well as faculty members from other Universities.
